Before your session


fuel & hydrate

When using an infrared sauna you will be sweating and actively burning calories. It is incredibly important to hydrate and fuel your body before your session! Always drink plenty of hydrating fluids before, during, and after your sauna session.

arrive early

For your first session, you should arrive at least 15 minutes early. Our staff will check you in, explain how everything works, and show you to your private room ensuring you know how to properly work your sauna.

what to wear

We provide a full towel and robe service to be used while inside the sauna. We highly recommend wearing loose fitting, comfortable clothing to your session to make putting your clothes back on after your session quick and easy! Remove all makeup to ensure your skin fully absorbs the maximum benefits of infrared heat during your sauna experience.

During your session


don't sweat the temp

For your first session, it might take you 10-20 minutes to break a sweat – this is normal! Our saunas are directly heating your body, raising your core temperature from 1-3 degrees. Lumos benefits, like many wellness endeavors, are cumulative, the more you come in, the better you’ll feel!  With frequent trips to Lumos, your body will become accustomed to its core temperature being raised and you will start sweating more quickly and you will sweat more overall.

After your session


REFUEL & REPLENISH

After finishing an infrared sauna session, your body will continue to work to cool itself down naturally. Refresh yourself with one of our lavender and eucalyptus-infused cold towels and place all of your used towels in one of the towel drop bins inside your room.

Your body just worked hard to rid itself of a lot of toxins! Be sure to rehydrate, refuel, and book your next sauna session!

  • HOW IS AN INFRARED SAUNA DIFFERENT THAN A TRADITIONAL SAUNA?

    Heat

    Traditional dry saunas use temperatures as high as 185 to 195 degrees F, which can overwhelm those who are more sensitive to the heat. Infrared saunas use a much milder temperature environment of between 130 to 145 degrees F. However, because the heat of infrared saunas penetrates the body’s tissues increasing the core body temperature, they are able to cause a more vigorous and detoxifying sweat at lower temperature.

    Humidity

    Infrared saunas do not use steam and rely fully on the heat from the infrared heaters for overall effects. Because infrared penetrates human tissue instead of heating the air around the skin’s surface, they are seven times more effective at detoxifying the body.

    Technology

    A traditional dry sauna uses a stove to heat the air. As the temperature of the air increases around you, the temperature of your body increases. Infrared saunas use infrared heaters to emit a specific wavelength of infrared light. Your skin absorbs this wavelength, causing your body’s temperature to rise. The sweat produced by a traditional sauna might have only 3% toxins, while infrared can produce sweat comprised of up to 20% toxins.

    We take appointments through our website, via phone, in person, or through the Mindbody app and Mindbody website.

  • DO YOU ACCEPT WALK-INS?

    We do not accept walk-in appointments at this time. However, based on our sauna availability we are happy to accommodate any last minute appointment requests. Please call us to verify immediate availability or book your appointment online in advance.

  • HOW LONG ARE SESSIONS?

    Sauna sessions may be purchased in 30-minute or 45-minute increments.

  • CAN I SAUNA WITH ANOTHER PERSON?

    Yes! Each of our saunas accommodates 2 people, and we charge individually. If you do choose to sauna with a friend/guest, please note that our online system cannot make reservations for more than one person in a sauna, so please be sure to provide a note when scheduling online or call us to schedule this type of appointment.

  • WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

  • ARE THE SAUNAS PRIVATE?

    Yes! You will be provided with your own personal sauna in a private suite.

  • ARE SAUNAS SANITARY?

    Yes. Infrared light naturally eliminates the presence of viral, bacterial, and fungal toxins. Additionally, our staff cleans and sanitizes the saunas after each use.

  • DO YOU PROVIDE SHOWERS?

    No. We recommend waiting about 15-30 minutes before showering to allow your body to continue to release toxins. However, we do provide a cool aromatherapy infused towel after your session so that you leave feeling clean and refreshed.
